Welcome to the DFW Bank Snapshot, a weekly series that provides a closer look at financial institutions headquartered in Dallas-Fort Worth. This week, we're taking a look at Seagoville-based Homebank Texas. Founded in 1952 by W.A. Waldrop, HomeBank finds itself among the oldest remaining independent banks in North Texas. Formerly known as Seagoville State Bank, the bank started in the "old" downtown area of its namesake town. It made its entry into Dallas in 1995 with the acquisition of Buckner State Bank.
