Below are award winners and all-area selections for the 2022 baseball season... Offensive player of the year Jett Williams, Rockwall-Heath, Sr. Williams projects to be a first round pick at July's MLB draft, and was the 1B to Griffin Herring's 1A in the Player of the Year running. The 5-8 shortstop hit .411 for Rockwall-Heath (the state's top-ranked 6A team for much of the regular season) with seven home runs, eight triples, 10 doubles, 24 stolen bases, 43 runs driven in and 51 scored. He led Heath — the 2021 state champions and a state semifinalist in 2022 — in all categories.
