McKinney Boyd and Plano Prestonwood Christian had much different postseasons in 2022. Boyd was eliminated in the first round of the UIL volleyball playoffs, while Prestonwood capped a 40-1 season by winning the TAPPS 6A state title and finishing No. 7 in the MaxPreps national rankings. And Prestonwood might be even better this season. Returning seven players who have already committed to Division I colleges, and with national player of the year candidate Macaria Spears also back, there was speculation that this Prestonwood team could possibly be the best team in Texas history.
