A North Texas man who pleaded guilty to assault after he was caught on video viciously beating a woman in Deep Ellum in 2018, is again facing jail time for a violent crime toward a woman in a neighboring county. Rockwall police arrested Jarod Broussard, 41, in August 2022 after a woman who had been living with him reported she was 'repeatedly strangled, suffocated, and beaten' after she ended their relationship, according to the Rockwall County district attorney's office. Broussard pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in the 2022 attack and was sentenced Monday to 40 years in prison, the district attorney's office announced.
