FORNEY — Callie Orozco was a junior at Gunderson High School in San Jose, Calif., when the CIF introduced girls water polo as a high school varsity sport. A volleyball player by trade, Orozco knew nothing about the sport when she joined the inaugural team that spring. Orozco is having a full-circle moment nearly 27 years later. With UIL sponsoring water polo for the first time at the varsity level, Orozco is now coaching the first-ever boys and girls water polo teams at both Forney and North Forney.
