With more than 2.3 million illegal border crossings on the southwest border in the previous federal fiscal year, yet another Texas County is calling on Gov. Greg Abbott to secure the Texas-Mexico border and repel the invasion. At a meeting of the Commissioners Court last week, Waller County declared it 'recognizes and affirms the sovereign and unilateral authority explicitly reserved to the States, respectively, under Article I, Section 10 of the U.S. Constitution and Article IV, Section 7 of the Texas Constitution to defend themselves against invasion, which has been exacerbated by the federal government's failure in meeting its constitutional obligation to ‘insure the domestic tranquility', ‘provide for the common defense', ‘execute the laws', and ‘protect each [state] against invasion.
