The sound of roaring engines will fill the air during the inaugural Iron Horse Shoot Out, hosted by the Amarillo Police Department this week. The three-day event is open to the public and is family friendly. The action takes place Thursday through Saturday, Aug. 4-6, in the north parking lot of the Amarillo Civic Center. 'There are going to be all kinds of different events for the riders to participate in,' said Carla Burr, Public Information Officer with the Amarillo Police Department (APD). According to a news release, civilians, and motor officers from as far away as Virginia, Kansas, Nebraska, Louisiana, Kentucky, and Arizona have registered to ride in the event.
